It’s damn near impossible to escape the impacts of the current state of politics, locally, nationally, or even internationally. It is not unusual for feelings of anxiety to lead to feeling pessimistic and hopelessness. Its okay, these are all valid feelings to have, you are not alone. Here are some quick tips to coping with election anxiety.
Coping Strategies:
Set Healthy Boundaries: Limit your news consumption. Take breaks from social media and avoid engaging in heated political debates.
Practice Mindfulness: Focus on your breath and engage in mindfulness techniques like meditation or yoga.
Channel Your Energy: Volunteer for a cause you believe in or participate in community activism.
Stay Present: Focus on what you can control, such as your own actions and choices.
Remember, taking care of your mental health is crucial, especially during stressful times.
