MF’s continue to wild out!
It’s okay to be scared, worried, angry, or whatever else you’re feeling right now. The world can feel heavy, and pretending it’s not doesn’t help. What does help is focusing on what you can actually control.
For me, that means reaching out instead of closing off. It means connecting with like-minded people, supporting organizations that are doing real work, and staying grounded in the present. Literally, touch grass. Stepping away from social media is sometimes the best mental reset you can give yourself. Those algorithms love to feed you despair, and before you know it, you’re doom-scrolling your peace away.
Find balance. Stay aware, but also make space for joy. Go outside, call a friend, laugh at something stupid, and remind yourself that you can still live your life. Staying connected helps you stay centered and reminds you that you are not alone. We’re all going to need each other with everything happening around us. The only way through is together.

Mind & Mingle: A Mental Health Meetup
I’m excited to announce Mind & Mingle: A Mental Health Meetup happening on October 25th, 2025 in Houston. The goal is simple—connect Black therapists to the community and help people find someone they feel comfortable working with. Mental health is still deeply underutilized and misunderstood in our community, and this event is one small step toward bridging that gap in representation and understanding.
My hope is that this becomes a yearly event and eventually grows into something even bigger for the city—maybe even a conference one day.
If you’d like to attend, donate, or support through sponsorship or partnership (or know someone who might), please forward this to them or visit this link for details:
We Celebrate You
We celebrate YOU. Whether it’s getting out of bed when you didn’t feel like it, checking in on a friend, or showing up for yourself in a small way, it all counts. Your effort matters.
If you’ve had a recent win, breakthrough, or proud moment, share it with us at [email protected]. Your story might be exactly what someone else needs to hear this month. Got a question about mental health or therapy? Send it our way. We’re here to support you and help point you in the right direction.
And if you know someone who’d vibe with this newsletter, forward it to them. Let’s keep growing this space together.
