It's time for you to drive the boat!
Take active control in creating the world you want to live in!
What’s good! I hope you had a great September and are ready for the fall. I don’t know about you but I’m ready AF for the cooler temperatures. As the world seems like its on the precipice of even more crises (this is the plural of crisis btw) and scandals the best thing we can do is to live our lives to the best of our ability.

Setting Healthy Boundaries
Understanding Boundaries
Boundaries are limits we set to protect our physical, emotional, and mental well-being. They help us define our identity, establish healthy relationships, and manage stress. For many of us, setting boundaries can be particularly challenging due to societal expectations and stereotypes that often prioritize the needs of others over their own.
Why Boundaries Matter
Setting healthy boundaries is essential for:
Protecting your mental health: When you don't set boundaries, you may feel overwhelmed, stressed, and resentful.
Building strong relationships: Healthy boundaries help you communicate your needs effectively and avoid feeling taken advantage of.
Achieving your goals: When you set boundaries, you can focus on what's important to you and avoid distractions.
Tips for Setting and Maintaining Healthy Boundaries
Identify your needs and values: What is important to you? What are your non-negotiables?
Communicate your boundaries clearly and assertively: Use "I" statements to express your needs and avoid blaming or making accusations.
Practice saying "no": It's okay to say no to requests that don't align with your priorities or values. A “no” can in-fact be a complete sentence.
Be consistent: You gotta stick to your boundaries, even if it's difficult.
Seek support: Talk to friends, family, or a therapist about your struggles with setting boundaries.
Boundaries in the Context of Black Masculinity
Black men often face societal pressures to be strong, independent, and self-sufficient. These expectations can make it difficult to set boundaries and ask for help. However, it's important to remember that it's not a sign of weakness to set boundaries. In fact, it's a sign of strength and self-respect.
By setting healthy boundaries, Black men can challenge harmful stereotypes, prioritize their own needs, and build stronger, healthier relationships.
